Live in Sole Housekeeper Duration: Permanent Hours: Full Time Live-in

- £40,000–£55,000 gross per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Live-in Sole Housekeeper to join a beautiful private family estate near Bruton, Somerset.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the housekeeping, presentation and day-to-day organisation of the main residence and guest accommodation. This is a long-term position for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, has exceptional attention to detail and can anticipate what needs to be done.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the main residence and guest cottages to an exceptional standard
- Luxury laundry, ironing, linen and wardrobe care
- Preparing bedrooms and guest accommodation
- Caring appropriately for fine art, antiques, silverware and delicate finishes
- Managing household supplies, inventories, shopping and errands
- Preparing breakfast and simple family meals on occasion
- Assisting with entertaining, table presentation and guest service
- Keeping cupboards, pantries and storage areas organised
- Providing occasional care for the family dogs
- Possible travel to the family’s European residence for approximately three to four weeks per year
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a UHNW/HNW private household, luxury residence or similarly high-standard environment
- Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently
- Confident with luxury laundry and wardrobe management
- Discreet, trustworthy and professional
- Comfortable preparing simple family meals
- Warm and personable while maintaining an unobtrusive presence
- Comfortable around dogs
- Excellent checkable references
- Non-smoker
- Full driving licence
Additional information:
The role is approximately 45 hours over five days per week, including working two weekends per month. Flexibility will be required when the family are in residence, (typically school holidays) with time off in lieu where appropriate.
The accommodation is suitable for one occupant only and cannot accommodate additional residents or pets.
