School Engagement Employer Award – Highly Commended

During a difficult 2021 for apprentices, we were nominated by OxLEP Skills in the ‘School Engagement Employer Award’ category at this years’ Oxfordshire Apprentice Awards.  The School Engagement Employer Award is a new award created to “recognise organisations that have exceeded normal standards and expectations in engaging with local schools and colleges to inspire the next generation”.

It was a huge honour to be nominated and even more so to make the final three. It was also a little bit of David versus Goliath, being up against some pretty big organisations in Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure Ltd and Pearson Education, both of whom have made huge efforts to engage with local school especially during the pandemic, and while we did not win we were delighted to come away with a ‘Highly Commended’ Award which arrived in the post this week and now sits proudly beside our WOBA.

Working with OxLEP Skills as Enterprise Advisors over the last year has been really rewarding and we would encourage any business that wants to engage with the community and especially with local schools and colleges to get in touch.
