The Burford Recruitment Company are working with a market leading eCommerce company who are looking to recruit a Server Manager. They have experienced year on year growth and are a market leader in their industry. Due to expansion an opportunity has arisen for someone with a strong web server background who is looking for an autonomous role whilst being supported by a driven and talented leadership team. As Server Manager, you will maintain all systems to ensure they are in a state where the business processes can be guaranteed. You will ensure that planned and unplanned interruptions to these services and systems are dealt with efficiently. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator with the proven ability to collaborate successfully cross department. Progressive IT or technology experience are essential, as well as a degree from an accredited institution or Microsoft 365 related certifications.

As Server Manager, you will:

• Maintain the internal network, servers, and security configuration
• Install and rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes
• Maintain anti virus compliance
• Perform daily back up operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media
• Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary
• Create, change and delete user accounts per request
• Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support in line with department SLA’s
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative utilities, tools and hardware
• Make recommendations for future upgrades to hardware and processes
• Identify and highlight improvements to systems and processes on a continual basis
• Have a working understanding of security best practices and implementing policies and processes
• Be responsible for evaluation and deployment of major Microsoft 365 and Windows releases
• Communicate and present concepts and ideas to other stakeholders
• Meet the daily SLA targets to solve the Zendesk tickets

You will need experience with the following technologies:

• Microsoft 365, Hybrid Exchange, Windows and macOS
• Linux server management (Debian 11)
• NGINX web server
• Redis caching management
• MySQL database backups
• Elasticsearch
• Zendesk
• Server security and corporate security

This role is hybrid based with 2 days a week based in their office Nr Burford. On offer is a salary in the region of £45,000 – £55,000 + bonus as well as a range of benefits including:
