Part-Time Housekeeper / Household Assistant Duration: Permanent Hours: Part Time Live-Out

- £25 per hour (circa £26,000 per annum)
- 20 hours per week | Ideally across 5 mornings including Saturdays

A warm and welcoming family of five are looking for an experienced and reliable Part-Time Housekeeper / Household Assistant to join their busy family home near Winchcombe.
The core focus of this role is hands-on housekeeping. The family are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised and well-presented home, and who is confident taking ownership of the day-to-day housekeeping without needing to be directed.
Alongside the housekeeping, there will be some additional support with family meals, errands and general household organisation, making this a varied role for someone who enjoys being a trusted and helpful pair of hands within a family home.
The family have three school-aged children who are largely independent. This is not a traditional childcare position, although there may be occasional informal support with the children when required.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping – the main focus of the role
- Taking ownership of the day-to-day housekeeping of the home
- Cleaning and maintaining all areas of the property to a high standard
- General tidying and ensuring the home is consistently well presented
- Laundry, ironing and clothing care
- Keeping household spaces organised and clutter-free
- Occasional deeper cleaning and organisation of household areas
- Identifying tasks that need attention and using initiative to keep on top of the home
Family Meals & Kitchen Support
- Preparing simple, nutritious and home-cooked family meals
- Meal preparation and batch cooking where required
- Grocery shopping and household provisioning
- Keeping the kitchen and food supplies organised
- Helping with occasional food preparation for the family
Errands & Household Support
- Running occasional household errands, including returns, collections and shopping
- Keeping household supplies well stocked
- Light household administration where required
- Assisting with travel bookings and other practical arrangements
- Helping with general organisation around the home
About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, hands-on Housekeeper who genuinely enjoys housekeeping and takes pride in the standard of their work.
You will ideally have:
- Proven private household housekeeping experience
- A strong background in hands-on housekeeping, cleaning, laundry and ironing
- A genuine preference for housekeeping as the primary focus of your role
- Experience working within a family home
- Confidence preparing family meals
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards
- A full UK driving licence and own vehicle – essential
The successful candidate will be someone who is happy to roll their sleeves up and take real ownership of the housekeeping, while also enjoying the variety that comes from supporting a busy family home.
Requirements
- Proven experience within private households is essential
- Strong housekeeping background combined with family assistant or household support experience
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (essential)
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Proactive, discreet, and able to work independently
- Comfortable within a relaxed but active family environment
Working Pattern
- 20 hours per week
- Ideally worked across five mornings, Monday–Friday
- The family can offer some flexibility around the exact working pattern for the right candidate
- £25 per hour
