The Burford Recruitment Company is working in partnership with a medical group who are looking for a part-time Finance Manager.

As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for multiple locations ensuring they operate in a profitable and cost-effective manner in keeping with the financial aspirations of the Partners and Shareholders. The post–holder is responsible for all accounts – up to, but not including production of the annual statutory accounts or partners’ tax affairs and is responsible for internal financial controls.

In addition, you will hold line management responsibility for an Assistant Accountant and Finance Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and increasing sources of income – analysing and reporting on threats and opportunities.
• Understanding of the financial implications of NHS contract changes and legislation.
• Maximising income and minimising expenditure in partnership with the Business Manager.
• Implementing and maintaining all financial internal controls to reduce risk of loss to the business by fraud or error.
• Monthly reporting of management accounts to the Partners & Business Manager.
• Budget management & reporting.
• Cash-flow monitoring and forecasting.
• Management of all bank accounts.
• Review of supplier/payroll payments for authorisation by the Business Manager.
• Checking payroll submissions prepared by the Assistant Accountant
• Production of annual operating/capital expenditure budgets in cooperation with cost centre managers/Business Manager.
• Liaising with the Accountants and with the Bankers (assisted by the Finance Assistant where practical).
• Production of annual revenue budget in cooperation with Partners/Business Manager.
• Review of financial processes to ensure appropriate internal controls are in place, implementation of new processes/controls as required.
• Contribute to business strategy decisions, providing backing financial data as required.
• Preparation of the annual accounts for review and finalisation by the practice accountants.

Qualifications & Capabilities:

• ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
• AAT Level 4 or equivalent
• Experience with taking sole responsibility for accounts
• Experience with management accounts reporting
• Staff/people management experience
• Experience working in a health care setting (desirable)

Additional Information:

• 25-30 hours per week, flexible work pattern (potential WFH 1 day a week
• Salary £42k – £44k FTE depending on experience.
